Enjoy Life Because It’s Short by Kemba Zola
Kemba Zola has been a writer all her life. She writes with no emotion; seeking to let the story resonate with the reader. Writing became an outlet as a way to express herself without interruption. …. this story is called “Enjoy Life Because It’s Short”. It is about the last day I saw my 19 yearold brother alive. He was a jokester. I asked him to go pick up food for me, but instead he ranto his car to drive away. As I came outside he was laughing and waving good bye. He wasmurdered hours later.
This ten word story was typed on a Smith Corona Super-Silent, c. 1957. Let’s call this beautiful blue boy, Andrew.
