Fog Running by Karen Wolf

Desire to capture its softness
wrap it around like a blanket
and nap beneath a tree,
but fog makes the tall green ones
invisible, like female
potential in my parents’ eyes.
Damn, such digressions go against—

FOG LESSONS:
Live in the moment, just the ten feet
of visibility around me.
Muffled car sounds seem like distant animal noises,
covering up all vestiges of civilization
just the cool fog dripping from my hair,
and the clear screech of a blue jay,
no past visible behind me,
or future ahead of my stride.
Just now.
