Another Time by M.J.Iuppa

Twelve metal knockers positioned precisely on the cottage’s blue door. Three
catch his eye: the silver fish with its burnished scales, the bronze lion with
its wind-blown mane, and the gold coin of fortune. Twelve possibilities, only
one opens the door. What to do? He puts his hand to his chin, imagining what
waits beyond this threshold. The table set for two— curtains fluttering in
and out of the window that overlooks the sea. A soldier’s letter in his pocket
gives clues to the stories he has never heard. Who he is depends on how he
reads it.
