Calyx of Uprisen Sun by Richard King Perkins II

Your quenchless enchantment
annihilates with cold—
the sweet fetus
of Norwegian isles
and rainbow galaxies

as time dwindles preciously
into alleyways
and other places
lacking the tenderness
of fingers.

An occupation
is taking place—
waiting for you to kiss me
with hazel caresses
in a calyx of uprisen sun

so that errant thoughts
are luminous window plinks
and I witness her as gentleness
in distant phenomena,
finding patterns where none exist.
